The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Pharmacy Services is responsible for driving strategic growth, expansion, and commercialization of pharmacy services. This role leads the identification, evaluation, and execution of new business opportunities, partnerships, and service lines that enhance revenue, market presence, and enterprise value. Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for pharmacy services aligned with enterprise growth objectives. Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new growth opportunities including new markets, service lines, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. Lead market assessments, competitive analyses, and business case development for new pharmacy initiatives. Implement new client engagements related to contractual agreements in the pharmacy space. The AVP partners closely with pharmacy operations, clinical leadership, finance, legal, and executive leadership to ensure that growth initiatives are operationally feasible, financially sound, and aligned with clinical quality and regulatory requirements. Build strategic alliances with key stakeholders regarding pharmacy expense management and overall pharmacy oversight. Lead pharmacy engagement efforts for identified Ovation client sites. Lead and mentor pharmacy directors, managers, and clinical leaders; build strong leadership succession. Collaborate with other internal stakeholders to identify, track, and analyze financial data for assigned engagements. Direct multiple projects and tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Provide leadership in the area of expense management and clinical alignment to contribute to client’s success within assigned areas. Manage customer expectations, delivering cost savings and achieving goals according to estimated timelines, utilizing customer participation in the process. Track and analyze financial data important to the organization, including pharmacy services supply expense and pharmacy cost per adjusted patient day. Develop standardized documents, processes, and calculations for use by the team to quantify savings solutions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Exceptional understanding of healthcare and pharmacy. Thorough understanding of pharmacy competencies and requirements. Effective communicator. Excellence in Microsoft Office products. Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities. Work Experience, Education, and Certifications
PharmD, required. 8–12 years of relevant pharmacy leadership experience. Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, partnerships, or expansion initiatives within pharmacy or healthcare services. Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, reimbursement models, and regulatory requirements. Travel
Up to 20% as required.
