The GoFundMe team is searching for a Manager on the Strategy & Operations (S&O) team. S&O plays a critical role across the business to deliver the insights, clarity, alignment, and operational rigor that enable teams to scale with impact. As a Manager on the S&O team, you will lead a team of Program Managers supporting five critical pillars: Payments Risk, Content Risk, CDD, EDD, and Tooling. You will serve as a strategic thought partner to leadership, own the execution and health of high‑impact programs, and build the organizational capabilities needed to keep our platform safe, compliant, and operationally excellent. The Job
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Program Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance. Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and conduct regular career development conversations to grow and retain top talent. Serve as a strategic thought partner to S&O and functional leadership, translating business priorities into structured, measurable programs with clear owners and milestones. Oversee program management for Trust & Safety initiatives, including the design, launch, and iteration of policies and enforcement workflows that protect users and maintain platform integrity. Lead programs supporting the company's risk management and regulatory compliance obligations, ensuring work is executed on time and meets internal and external standards. Drive cross‑functional collaboration with Legal, Policy, Engineering, Product, and Finance to translate Trust & Safety and compliance priorities into operational programs. Manage programs that bridge Product and Trust & Safety teams, ensuring seamless go‑to‑market readiness, feature launches, and operational handoffs. Establish and maintain operational playbooks, escalation frameworks, and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of programs across all three pillars. Identify structural inefficiencies, emerging risks, and gaps in existing operations; develop and implement scalable solutions with measurable impact. Lead quarterly and annual planning cycles for the team, including OKR setting, resource allocation, and roadmap development. Build executive‑ready reporting, performance narratives, and strategic recommendations that drive clarity and alignment at the senior leadership level. Drive change management efforts associated with new programs, policies, tooling launches, or organizational models. You
7+ years of experience in program management, strategy & operations, management consulting, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a people management role. Proven track record of leading and developing high‑performing teams in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments. Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross‑functional programs that delivered measurable outcomes at the senior leadership level. Experience working in or closely with Trust & Safety, Risk, Compliance, or Policy functions. Strong business judgment with the ability to balance operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and long‑term strategy. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high‑priority workstreams simultaneously without losing sight of the details. Strong executive communication skills—able to distill complex, ambiguous situations into clear narratives and actionable recommendations. Ability to operate autonomously and proactively in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments. Demonstrated ability to build influence and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups without direct authority. Experience in Trust & Safety, fraud prevention, compliance, platform risk, or marketplace integrity at a high‑growth technology, ecommerce, fintech, or marketplace company. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to technology platforms (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, AML/KYC, or sector‑specific requirements). Proficiency with project management tools such as ClickUp, Jira, or Monday.com; comfort with data tools such as SQL, Tableau, or Looker is a plus. Why you’ll love it here
