The Manager, Corporate Accounting, is responsible for leading the corporate accounting operations and assessments of significant transactions and new accounting standards. The role will have accounting responsibilities including cloud computing arrangements, internally developed software, share-based compensation, and LIFO. This position is visible throughout the organization and candidates must have the ability to coordinate and manage projects, be proactive, and deadline focused. This position will work cross‑functionally with stakeholders to assess the financial reporting and accounting impacts of transactions and changes to UNFI's evolving business. In addition, this role will assist with disclosures under US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations. What does it mean to be part of our Finance / Accounting Team? Job Responsibilities
Oversee the accounting of cloud computing arrangements and internally developed software in accordance with ASC 350‑40. Oversee the accounting of share‑based compensation in accordance with ASC 718 and equity transactions. Oversee the accounting of LIFO in accordance with ASC 330. Research and analyze US GAAP and SEC regulations to ensure transactions are accounted for and reported in accordance with reporting requirements and document accounting conclusions in formal memos. Manage the monthly corporate close process, including review of journal entries and balance‑sheet account reconciliations. Update and maintain relevant corporate accounting policies, including account reconciliations, to implement leading best practices across the company to meet organizational goals. Assist with disclosures and provide support for external reporting processes, including 10‑K, 10‑Q, and 8‑K filings, by contributing to the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and management discussion and analysis. Assist in supporting internal and external audit requests. Perform other relevant job duties as required. Job Requirements
Education / Certifications : Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Public accounting experience preferred. Experience : 5+ years of accounting‑related experience. Wholesale distribution or retail experience preferred. Public accounting experience preferred. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities : Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to partner with a multitude of key stakeholders. Solid understanding of US GAAP and the ability to apply accounting guidance to transactions. Proficiency with advanced Excel functions. High level of attention to detail. Ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement effective solutions. Effective leader of a team with the ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to work with little supervision. Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available. Work Environment
This position is classified as remote, where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed by their manager. The position may require minor travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons. The employee will work in a temperature‑controlled office environment. The incumbent may sit for long periods at a desk or computer terminal, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday. Stoop, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required to complete job duties.
