The Senior Sales Engineer assists the Sales team in reaching revenue goals by providing high-quality pre-sales technical support and presentations focused on articulating value to prospective buyers. In this role, you will act as the product solution specialist, working to ensure the best possible technical solution is delivered based on the information provided. Specializations may be designated by defined strategic initiatives, including verticals such as System Integrators and Channel Partners. This individual reports to the Sales Director, requires significant interaction and consultation with customers, and must possess a solid understanding of the sales cycle while collaborating closely with Sales teams throughout the process. Sales Engineers and their Account Managers are expected to proactively uncover and develop new areas of business and relationships. Responsibilities Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Account Managers and the Regional Director to develop business and technical strategies that maximize the chances of winning business. Discovery & Strategy: Investigate prospect needs and assist in developing tailored strategies to secure new business. Tactical Support: Assist Sales teams in making tactical decisions throughout the sales cycle. Problem Solving: Identify compelling events or specific business problems and offer attractive, actionable solutions to the client. Technical Consultation: Provide specialized technical support to prospects and customers using best practices techniques along with available organizational resources. Account Ownership: Take responsibility for all lead technical activities. This includes building relationships across customer IT silos to document infrastructure, understand unique challenges, and seek out potential projects. Forecasting & Revenue: Directly assist Sales teams in achieving financial targets via the sales process and help accurately assess and forecast pipeline opportunities. Technical Demonstrations: Create and deliver Proof of Concepts (PoCs), manage competitive evaluations/bake-offs, and prepare for both onsite and remote presentations. Lead live or canned product demonstrations and interactive whiteboard discussions to showcase solution capabilities and benefits to customers, resellers, and integrators.
