Sales Trainee - Non Exempt

A Sales Trainee is an entry-level position that will provide you with the training necessary to develop into a sales role that suits your strengths and serves our customers in our market at a high level. In this 1-2 year program, you begin with warehouse and delivery duties in order to learn about the basics of Electrical Distribution and our specific products. Trainees then rotate into Counter and Inside Sales, as well as a small focus on operational roles of the business including Purchasing, Back Office, and Project Management to better understand our business as a whole. During the Counter and Inside Sales rotations, you'll be interacting with customers via phone, email, and in-person at our sales counter; entering and filling customers' orders; and assisting with warehouse work as needed. You will have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of market trends and customer specifications through hands-on training. Once trained in each of these areas of business described above, you will have an opportunity to manage a set of accounts for our entire location, focusing on business development and market share growth of both established and new accounts. Reports to: Location or Division Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Associates of Bachelor's Degree
• Current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to safely operate equipment including, but not limited to a forklift (certification provided on the job), pallet jacks, wire machine, etc.
• Manually lift 40+ lbs
• Detail-oriented, extremely organized, and capable of thinking creatively
• Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future)

Working Conditions:

Conditions vary based on the trainee's current segment of the training and will include warehouse, office and external environments. During some segments, activities will include lifting, sorting, standing, possible extreme heat/cold conditions. Office segments may include sitting and using computers for extended periods. Various segments will include some travel both by car and by air.

Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is $55000 to $65000 annually.
