This person works in accordance with facility policies and procedures and report resident needs to concerns to a licensed nurse./ph3Responsibilities and Major Duties/h3ulliTimely and accurately document all resident related activities in accordance with facility policy./liliEnsure timely notification of resident related information, including changes in resident condition (example: weight loss, skin condition changes), to a licensed nurse for further direction./liliSuccessfully assist all responsible residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). including but not limited to feeding, bathing, dressing, transferring, ambulation, loco motion, personal hygiene, toileting./liliObtain labs/vitals as directed by licensed nurse./liliObserve infection control and safety procedures./liliAttend and participate in all scheduled staff meetings, educational meeting/in-services and all other meetings related to employment./liliAssist with and participate in all resident activities to facilitate a home-like environment for the residents within assigned facility./liliEnsure compliance with all HIPAA regulations./liliRespectfully engage and welcome all visitors, guests and family members within the facility./liliEnsure a safe and sanitary living environment for residents./liliAdhere to all infection control policies within the assigned facility./liliEnsure the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process is followed in accordance to State Federal Guidelines./liliFollow Residents Rights policies at all times./liliAdhere to all facility policies procedures./liliEnsure adherence to the Corporate Integrity Program and the Performance Expectations at all times./liliPerform other related duties as directed by Director of Nursing and/or person of authority./li/ulh3Position Qualifications/h3pEducation and Experience: Ability to obtain and maintain State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Certification required. High School Diploma/GED preferred. 1 year of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or STNA preferred. Ability to read/write/comprehend the English language in written verbal form required. Ability to communicated both verbally and non-verbally required./ppLicensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid STNA certification to work within a long term care facility within the State of Ohio. Dependable transportation required. CPR certification preferred./ppResponsibility for Patient Care: Responsible for promoting independence and assisting all residents with their ADLs./ppComputer: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail and basic internet usage./ppLeadership Responsibilities: None./ppResponsibility for confidential matters: Works regularly with some information such as medical records or reports and records that are restricted to specific persons. Must comply with confidentiality policy./ppEnvironmental and working conditions/ppMay be exposed to heat and cold in all weather conditions. Works regularly under desirable conditions with little or no disagreeable features. Distractions are frequent./ppOCCUPATION EXPOSURE/ppX Category 1 Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues/ppX Category 2 Tasks that involve NO exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, but employment may require unplanned Category 1 tasks/ppX Category 3 Tasks that involve NO exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues; would not be required to perform Category 1 task Age Group and Abuse Guidelines Primarily engages with adults and the elderly. Knowledge of the physical, social emotional, and intellectual needs of adults and the elderly will be helpful. This includes being able to detect abuse with regard to state regulations.
