Salary: $86,965 - 113,672 per year
Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in healthcare administration, business, information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. We need prior hands-on experience supporting IBM i-Series/AS400 environments from both technical and application perspectives. We require at least three years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, billing, or EMR system support. We expect direct experience with EMR professional billing modules such as Epic PB, Cerner, Athena, Allscripts, or similar platforms. We value strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and thorough documentation skills. We need the ability to convert business needs into practical technical solutions. We require experience with SQL, reporting tools, and data extraction methods. We need working knowledge of RPG, RPGILE, CLP, SDA, SQL, and EDI. We prefer familiarity with OpenText EDI and Rocket Software GUI screen design tools. We expect excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience with healthcare billing compliance standards such as CMS, HIPAA, and payer regulations is preferred.
Responsibilities: We serve as the subject matter expert for professional billing functionality within our EMR platform. We analyze, configure, maintain, and improve billing workflows, charge capture, claim creation, and posting processes. We use RPG, RPGILE, CLP, SDA, SQL, and EDI to support billing operations and reporting needs. We partner with clinicians, coding specialists, revenue cycle staff, IT teams, and vendors to ensure accurate charge entry and reconciliation. We gather requirements, map processes, and assess gaps to support billing workflow enhancements. We document functional specifications, guide testing efforts, and validate system changes. We troubleshoot billing issues, coordinate escalation when needed, and work toward timely resolution. We provide training, support, and job aids to end users of the billing system. We assist with audits, compliance reviews, and correction of billing discrepancies. We produce reports and analytics on billing performance, denial trends, and revenue cycle key metrics. We support technical activities such as database work, report development, and screen design. We manage system integrations using OpenText EDI and Rocket Software GUI design tools. We collaborate with IT and EMR vendors on upgrades, enhancements, and bug fixes related to billing. We perform additional duties as assigned.
