Description of the role PtP is seeking a Special Assistant to support the implementation of this initiative. This individual will report to the initiative’s co-leaders, who are members of its Steering Committee of funders, Ira Hillman of Einhorn Family Charitable Trust and Katie Beckmann of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, supporting them across many tasks involved in operating a complex, multi-year philanthropic initiative. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for an interesting and challenging remote role that leverages their outstanding project management skills and energy in support of a new initiative with potential to have positive impact on our nation’s most disadvantaged children.
Responsibilities
Project manage the initiative overall – create and update detailed workplans, ensuring initiative leaders are focused on important and timely priorities
Support the initiative’s leaders across a range of activities involved in the execution of this initiative, including diligence of potential grantees, primary and secondary research, etc.
Create and update documents and materials to be shared with the Steering Committee, other funders, partners, and the broader field
Schedule key initiative meetings (attended by funders, grantees, advisors)
Capture notes, key takeaways, and next steps during key initiative meetings
Qualifications and attributes
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Project management experience, including development and execution of project plans and management of diverse stakeholders
Extremely organized and detail-oriented
Highly proactive and self-driven
Adaptable, able to respond to weekly challenges while staying focused on long-term goals
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
(Preferred) Experience or demonstrated interest in the early childhood and/or health space
Location, hours, and compensation
Contract role for minimum of six months with potential to extend up to two years
Remote role, geography is flexible but must be generally available 12-5pm ET Monday thru Friday
Travel for 1-2 day meeting approximately once per quarter
Estimated 20-32 hours per week, with some weeks more and others less
Salary negotiable pending experience and qualifications
