***This position is 100% remote, but does require a candidate to live locally in Washington state for in-person team collaboration meetings 3-4 times per year***This position will only consider candidates who have public accounting experience or an active CPA license (ideally both)
Job Description:
Preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual journal entries and reports
Participation in the monthly general ledger close and consolidation reporting to parent companies
Cross collaboration with Finance department and other company departments
Maintains and reconciles balance sheet accounts which includes investigating and resolving account discrepancies within the general ledger
Provides support for audits and tax requests to external CPA firm
Routine accounting assignments including, but not limited to, review and coding of invoices received and/or preparing invoices for affiliates
Create and maintain documentation on processes and procedures related to job responsibilities
Ability to be a resource for and train staff members as well as facilitate cross‑training among team
Recommends and implements ideas and innovations to improve upon existing systems, work processes and procedures
Participates in cross functional teams to implement accounting solutions for new business activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
3+ years of relevant experience (ideally a mix of public accounting and industry accounting)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate accounting results to both accounting and non‑accounting customers at various levels of the organization
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to meet communicated deadlines
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships & work independently
Proven ability to self‑motivate and work effectively remotely
Displays initiative and has the ability to improve processes and document work performed
Ability to deal with ambiguity – unknown variables, systems limitations, and constraints
Highly organized – able to move quickly from one task to another, prioritize with limited guidance/direction and document work performed
