Our Opportunity: The Program Coordinator, Veteran Student Support Services (VSSS) will provide support to Purdue University Global, a public, nonprofit institution offering world‑class online education.
The project is a 5‑year grant cycle funded through September 24, 2030, with annual funding approval from the Department of Education. Compensation includes a full benefits package.
Job Summary: The Program Coordinator (PC), VSSS manages the program’s day‑to‑day fiscal, administrative, and operational activities, working closely with the VSSS Director and Education Specialist to implement activities and events that support the program’s goals and objectives.
What to expect in this role:
Administrative Support Services:
Assist Director and Education Specialist with all program and student data
Assist Director with budgetary and student records and all correspondence
Assist Director with required reporting to the Department of Education and the DOE Program Officer
Student Services:
Assist in the hiring, training, and supervision of all FWS Peer Tutors/Mentors
Design and implement recurring training for FWS Peer Tutors/Mentors
VSSS Program Support Services:
Provide basic support services such as basic skills and academic needs, study skills, financial literacy, and technology skills
Support the Director and Education Specialist in providing more targeted and intensive support services to address emergent needs in a proactive, preventive manner, varying by the student’s Individual Graduation Plan (IGP)
Support office functions by completing all other duties and special projects directly related to the VSSS program
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required. Education, Business, Information Technology, or related fields preferred
Minimum one year related experience required; 2–3 years preferred
Education can be substituted for experience, but experience cannot substitute for education
What we’re looking for:
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications (Gmail, Chat, Hangouts)
Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision, balancing competing time demands and prioritizing workload to meet deadlines
Effective analytical skills to assess situations, resolve issues, and make recommendations as appropriate
Strong oral and written communication skills, adaptable to different audiences
Ability to build working relationships across teams, departments, and schools
Capacity to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Strong interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor at all organizational levels
Additional Information:
The target wage for this position is $45,552 per year, based on a 40‑hour week at $21.90 per hour
