Qualifications (Expertise in Discipline)
College degree in a technical field or sales and marketing preferred
2 years work experience in technical sales with an understanding of long sales cycles preferred
Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills are essential
Familiarity with electrical components, AC/DC motors and good overall mechanical experience is a plus
Operational understanding of utility scale wind & hydro turbines is a huge plus
Understanding of industrial manufacturing is a plus, such as steel, material handling or cement production
Aptitude/willingness for learning technical specs and application of carbon brush products for testing and installation
Willing to work/climb at heights – climb 300+ foot ladders
Travel 50%+ of normal business days including overnight travel (air and auto) primarily in assigned region
Valid / or ability to acquire valid passport required
Required to pass a “climb rescue and work at heights” certification
Must possess valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving record
Essential Job Functions (Job-Specific Knowledge/Skills)
Interface with new and existing accounts to help build our product’s market presence in North America
Communicate product specification changes & interface with manufacturing and engineering on sales plans/troubleshooting
Validate product performance in field operation
Develop new relationships with operations and maintenance accounts
Work in conjunction with Management to build a comprehensive strategic and tactical Sales plan in order to achieve new results and efficiencies for Sales
Review Pricing & Costing for major products
Presentation / participation in trade association events

Work is performed indoors and outdoors when in field. Indoor areas are generally well lit. Temperature/humidity can vary greatly depending on weather, ranging from 60o to 100oF. Outdoor exposure can be extreme when in the field with sub 0o to plus 110oF temperatures witnessed. Performing the duties of this job, the employee may intermittently work near moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to vibration. The noise level in the field work environment can be loud.
