The Junior Level Grants Management Analyst provides foundational grants management support in a junior-level capacity, delivering off‑site assistance across federal financial assistance programs. This role supports grants and cooperative agreements with direct recipients and operates in accordance with applicable federal laws, regulations, and policies, including 2 CFR Part 200. The Junior Analyst works under general supervision, contributing to pre‑award and post‑award activities while developing proficiency across the full grant lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Grants Management Support:
Provide junior‑level support for federal grants and cooperative agreements in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including 2 CFR Part 200; apply grants management concepts, principles, and procedures to assigned grant actions under established guidance; assist program staff and stakeholders with grants‑related questions and routine technical matters.
Pre‑Award Activities:
Assist with the preparation, review, and administrative processing of Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs); support the review of grant and cooperative agreement applications for completeness, eligibility, and compliance with published requirements; assist with budget reviews and basic cost or price analysis under supervision; support pre‑award risk assessments by gathering, organizing, and documenting required information; prepare draft pre‑award documentation and supporting materials for review by senior staff.
Post‑Award Administration:
Assist with post‑award administration of grants and cooperative agreements, including processing routine amendments and modifications; support monitoring of recipient progress reports, milestones, and deliverables to ensure compliance with award terms; review reimbursement requests and supporting documentation for completeness and compliance with applicable requirements; assist with grant and cooperative agreement closeout activities, including documentation review and file reconciliation.
Systems, Records & Reporting:
Create, maintain, and update electronic grant files in designated grants management and financial systems; enter grant data, award actions, and supporting documentation into tracking systems and databases in a timely and accurate manner; assist with compiling data for recurring reports, summaries, and internal tracking tools.
Policy & Professional Development:
Apply existing federal regulations, policies, and guidance to assigned grants management activities; assist with updating templates, checklists, and standard operating procedures as directed; participate in training, meetings, and knowledge‑sharing activities to build grants management expertise.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of two (2) years of grants management and/or federal acquisition experience. Experience supporting federal grants or cooperative agreements preferred.
Skills and Qualifications
Working knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200 and basic federal grants management principles.
Familiarity with the full grant lifecycle, including pre‑award and post‑award processes.
Ability to follow established procedures and apply guidance to routine and moderately complex grant actions.
Experience or familiarity with grants management and financial systems preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft productivity and collaboration tools; ability to learn new technology platforms.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
