Go-To-Market Location:
Remote (US-based) Compensation:
$160K–$200K base + meaningful early-stage equity + benefits (total comp = $280k+) The Opportunity
Complex litigation is the ultimate test of human cognition. We are building the AI that passes it. When a defense firm handles a case with thousands of pages of medical records and conflicting timelines, precision is not optional; it is the difference between a fair outcome and a catastrophic one. Our AI reads, reasons, and references across these massive corpora to produce audit-ready work product. We are fundamentally redefining the mechanics of how the world’s top law firms win cases. We have moved past the initial experimental phase. With paying customers, a product in production, and a growing pipeline, we are ready to scale our vision. However, the legal industry is historically slower to adopt novel technology. To bridge the gap between frontier AI and the partner track, we need more than a salesperson. We need a peer. As our
Founding Lawyer Technologist , you will be the institutional "quality stamp" that establishes absolute trust with our clients. You are the translator who can walk into a room of skeptical partners and explain not just what our AI does, but how it aligns with their ethical and procedural standards. You are joining to institutionalize the trust we give to defense firms by showing them, rather than telling them, that we truly are a partner to them. The Role
You are a JD who speaks Python. You understand the visceral pain of document review because you have done it, but you also understand the architecture of Large Language Models well enough to explain why they hallucinate and how we prevent it. You will work directly with our Account Executives to close our largest deals. Your presence in the room changes the dynamic from a "vendor pitch" to a "peer consultation." You will own the narrative of trust, security, and legal accuracy. While you will not be writing production code, your background allows you to give strategic input on the product roadmap, ensuring our features map perfectly to the reality of litigation workflows. ⚙️ The Fluency Stack
Legal:
Deep experience in complex litigation, civil procedure, and the mechanics of defense law firms. Technical:
Conceptual understanding of LLM architecture (RAG, vectors, agents) and software development lifecycles. Commercial:
Ability to navigate high-stakes meetings with Managing Partners and General Counsel. Product:
Translating "lawyer friction" into "engineering specs" for our product team. What You\'ll Ship in 90 Days Close Key Partnerships:
Partner with AEs to close at least three major firm pilots by acting as the technical-legal authority in the room. Build the "Trust Deck":
Create the definitive technical-legal whitepaper or presentation that explains our architecture in a way that satisfies a cynical litigator. Influence the Roadmap:
Audit our current reasoning pipeline and deliver a strategic gap analysis between "what the AI does" and "what a senior associate needs." Who Thrives Here
You are a rare hybrid. You likely started your career in law but found yourself drawn to the systems behind the law. You have a J.D. and Practice Experience:
You have billed hours. You know what a Motion for Summary Judgment is and why missing a citation matters. You are Technically Literate:
You might have a CS degree, went to a coding bootcamp, or simply built your own tools because you hated the existing ones. You can read API documentation as easily as a case file. You are a Credibility Builder:
When you speak, lawyers listen because you speak their language, not marketing fluff. You are an Owner:
You do not wait for a meeting to be set up; you drive the relationship and the strategy. (Optional)
You have experience as a Solutions Engineer or Product Manager in the legal tech space. (Bonus)
You are curious about AI and excited to learn how to leverage it in your workflow to move faster and smarter. How We Work
We’re not just building AI for lawyers; we’re building an AI-native company. That means high output per person, humans and AI collaborating across every function, and a bias toward automation over headcount. You’ll work alongside AI daily to synthesize research, draft documentation, and move faster than teams twice our size. We give direct feedback, we move quickly, and we trust people to own their work. If you need the slow pace and hierarchy of a traditional law firm, this is not the right seat. If you thrive with autonomy and want to build the future of your former profession, let\'s talk. Why Us
We are past the "will this work?" phase. Our system is in production with customers who depend on it for high-stakes cases. As the founding hire in this role, you will define the function from scratch. Be the Bridge:
You are the missing link between the world\'s most advanced AI engineers and the country\'s most prestigious trial lawyers. Establish the Brand:
You will report directly to the CEO to define how our brand communicates trust and competence. No Bureaucracy:
Work with a team that values speed and technical truth over process. Mission-Critical Work:
Every workflow you help sell and implement moves fairness closer to people who cannot afford delays. What We Offer
$160K–$200K base + meaningful early-stage equity + benefits (total comp = $280k+) Full health, dental, and vision coverage Remote-first flexibility across the US Firsthand access to frontier models and the agency to explore new legal use cases The chance to revolutionize the industry you came from
