We’re looking for a collaborative, self-motivated
Global IT Operations Manager
to join our growing IT & Security team.
As our Global IT Operations Manager, you’ll help scale and operate our internal IT systems, supporting a distributed, global workforce across the US, Canada and Europe, focusing on identity and access management, SaaS administration, and employee technology experience. You’ll collaborate closely with Security, People, and business stakeholders to design and deliver IT capabilities that improve efficiency, reliability, and employee productivity across the organization.
What You’ll Do
Lead and develop a distributed team of IT professionals across the US and Europe, supporting day-to-day operations and team growth
Support IT operations across a globally distributed workforce
Own core IT service operations, including user provisioning, access management, SaaS administration, and endpoint lifecycle management
Manage identity and access systems (e.g., Okta), ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient access workflows
Drive automation of IT processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and access changes using tools like Tines or similar platforms
Administer and optimize SaaS platforms including Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, GitHub Enterprise, and others
Track SaaS license usage, monitor spend, and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and tooling improvements
Partner with Security, People, and business leaders to ensure compliance, access governance, and strong employee experience
Support the transition of IT operations from an external provider to an in-house team, improving service quality and operational visibility
Define and track key IT metrics (e.g., provisioning speed, service quality, system usage) to drive continuous improvement
To Be Set Up for Success in This Role, You’ll Need to Have
5+ years of experience in IT, including at least 2+ years managing IT teams or functions
Experience administering Google Workspace or similar enterprise productivity platforms
Strong experience managing SaaS applications, including provisioning, access control, and license management
Hands‑on experience with identity and access management systems, ideally Okta or similar SSO platforms
Strong people leadership skills with a proven ability to coach, develop, and retain talent
Experience with IT automation tools (e.g., Tines, BetterCloud, Zluri, or similar)
Experience managing endpoints and device lifecycle processes in a modern SaaS environment
Ability to manage distributed teams and collaborate effectively across regions and functions

Interest in journalism, media, or social platforms

30‑minute interview with a member of our Talent Team
A 1‑hour Zoom interview with the hiring manager
Panel interviews with several team members, including a discussion of cross‑departmental coordination and typical IT workloads
Travel & Team Engagement Expectations This role requires up to 10% travel for team collaboration, customer engagements, and company events. As part of our commitment to building strong connections across our fully distributed team, attendance at our annual company off‑site (typically held in Mexico) is expected.
For roles based in Europe, we offer a competitive salary range aligned with local market value.
The base salary for this role in the UK is between £78,000 – 92,000 GBP
The base salary for this role in Ireland is between €52,000 – 61,000 EUR.
Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
