About the Opportunity The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) safeguards MoonPay against financial crime. Leveraging advanced analytics and blockchain tracing tools, the FIU collects and analyzes large volumes of data to identify potentially suspicious activities. The Sanctions Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring we operate in full compliance with global sanctions regulations and internal standards, working closely with the Global Sanctions Manager and supporting operations in the U.S., UK, Europe and beyond.
Responsibilities
Investigate, analyze, and resolve sanctions and screening alerts.
Conduct analysis of customer transactional activity from a sanctions perspective.
Determine whether to close cases, escalations or file reports with agencies such as the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Observe sanctions regulatory reporting requirements.
Conduct research using available systems and proprietary tools to identify relevant information.
Keep up-to-date with industry news and developments in OFAC, BSA/AML, and the cryptocurrency space.
What you will be working on You will safeguard MoonPay against financial crime, supporting efforts to identify risks and protect against illicit activities in blockchain and digital assets. Your work will impact the secure, compliant ecosystem MoonPay provides to its users.
About You
Passion for digital currency and blockchain technology.
Expertise in AML and sanctions regulations, risks and typologies.
Approximately three years of relevant experience in the financial sector, particularly FinTech or crypto, with preference for sanctions and screening.
Strong decision‑making skills, bias for action, and sound judgment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to handle shifting priorities, thrive independently, and upskill on new tools.
Interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain, and financial crime detection.
Bonus Points
CGSS, ACAMS, ACFCS, or ICA accreditation.
Experience with blockchain analytics software.
Crypto compliance certifications.
