SUMMARY This role will analyze loss experience trends and causes, standardize Ryder SHS reporting processes incorporating LEAN methodology and directly support customer operations to improve bottom line performance through the reduction of injuries, collisions, and security incidents. Safety is one of Ryder's main priorities to ensure that our operations are being held to the highest safety standards, and neither our employees nor the public is at a safety and health risk as a result of our operations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Designs and develops target safety analytics and reports for customer operations to assist with managing and making informative decisions pertaining to Ryder's safety policies, procedures and hazard controls used to protect employees and improve profitability.
Initiates continuous improvement efforts to eliminate waste and reduce cycle time in safety administration and compliance reporting processes.
Coordinates executive level safety performance reports to support Ryder Board of Director/Operating Committee Meetings.
Backs-up change acceleration process supporting advancement of new DOT Compliance Driver Performance Management System.
Creates and conducts customer training on SHS Incident Management System.
Serves as a mentor in guiding and assisting the Safety Specialists.
Partners with Finance and Safety Leadership on ROI decisions to implement vehicle safety technology at customer operations.
Provides oversight and conducts audits on Driver Qualification process to maintain quality assurance.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Special projects and analysis as requested.
Perform other duties as requested.
Direction to be provided on executive or company level reports however role offers creative range to design custom safety reports to capture customer problems, trends.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Safety and Occupational Health.
EXPERIENCE Five (5) years or more experience in Safety, Compliance and Analytical experience.

Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
Project management skills. Possess project coordination skills.
Performs work independently with minimal supervision. Strong self-starter, able to work un-supervised and as member of a team.

Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
KNOWLEDGE Detailed knowledge of Safety, Occupational Health principles; advanced level.
LICENSES TRAVEL 30-40%
