Job Summary The Safety Manager is a critical role that drives Anheuser‑Busch's commitment to safety and excellence. As the subject matter expert for the branch, the Safety Manager fosters a culture of safety throughout the company. They inspire, coach, mentor, and train employees while guiding them toward exceptional Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance standards. The role uses analytical skills in prevention and mitigation techniques to reduce risk and acts as a liaison between the branch and local management during meetings, employee huddles, and when communicating incidents, injuries, vehicle/property incidents, or regulatory inspections.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure ownership and integration to drive sustainable EHS management systems
Provide guidance to leadership regarding safety strategic objectives and regulatory compliance issues
Develop health & safety improvement initiatives and manage daily operations
Own the DPO Excellence Program Safety Pillar for the branch location
Ensure regulatory and internal system compliance and represent the facility to external regulatory agencies
Conduct safety risk management, DOT, security, and environmental training and education, including compliance with federal and state occupational safety and health administration, environmental protection standards, and Anheuser‑Busch policies
Direct activities to conduct investigations, identify root cause, and recommend corrective measures for all safety incidents
Oversee workers compensation, auto and general liability risk exposure, following third‑party administrator instructions
Attend workers compensation hearings, small claims court proceedings, litigation trials, and interrogatories as required
Perform safety, insurance, environmental, DOT, and security audits and inspections to comply with all federal, state, county, and city requirements and Anheuser‑Busch policies
Investigate all auto accidents, general liability claims, and other actions filed against the branch
Review, compile, and report safety, DOT, security, and environmental statistics to zone, local, state, and federal agencies
Track, monitor, and deliver training, including behavioral leadership training
Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation requirements
Obtain certificates of insurance
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a safety‑related field
Ability to work all shifts and provide on‑call coverage outside work hours, some weekends, and holidays
5 years of risk management, environmental affairs, and/or supervisory experience
Knowledge of OSHA standards, transportation regulations, and related risk management standards
Working knowledge of insurance: property, workers compensation, general liability, and auto liability
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, and ability to lead change
Knowledge of government regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA)
DPO/VPO/LCP knowledge
Compliance and safety experience
Ability to lead teams and facilitate effective meetings
Experience in workers compensation claim management
