About the Position We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with U.S. tax and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in U.S. GAAP, payroll accounting, and financial analysis, with proven experience in a multinational and/or IT environment. This position requires working within the U.S. Central or Eastern time zones.
Responsibilities
Process and record payroll-related accounting entries and reconcile payroll accounts.
Calculate, record, and reconcile payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local withholdings (FICA, FUTA, SUTA).
Support payroll tax filings and compliance, including Forms 941, 940, W-2, W-3, and applicable state filings.
Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other accounts payable transactions.
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
Prepare and analyze monthly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements, including variance analysis.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, prepaid and depreciation schedules.
Assist with preparation of monthly and annual federal, state, and local tax returns.
Support internal and external audits and respond to audit requests.
Input and manage payments through online banking platforms.
Assist with financial reporting, ad-hoc analysis, and management reports.
Collaborate with cross-functional and multinational teams to improve accounting processes and controls.
Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an IT and/or multinational environment.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar ERP systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
Familiarity with U.S. payroll accounting and payroll tax compliance.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Nice To Have
CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus.
