We're seeking a dedicated CMAT Medical Assistant to join our Homewood clinic team. This is a specialized, full-time role focused exclusively on Cardio Metabolic Assessment Testing (CMAT). The selected candidate will be fully trained on CMAT procedures and will be responsible for guiding patients through the pre-testing questionnaire process, accurately entering clinical data into the EMR, performing CMAT assessments, documenting results in the patient chart, and communicating findings to the treating provider. This position also carries responsibility for tracking and reporting CMAT productivity using IMS reporting tools. No prior CMAT experience is required.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized clinical team member who takes ownership of their workflow and is committed to consistent, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Guide patients through completion of the CMAT pre-testing questionnaire, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness
- Enter patient questionnaire responses and relevant clinical information accurately into IMS (EMR)
- Perform CMAT procedures in accordance with established protocols, demonstrating appropriate technique and patient coaching
- Scan and upload completed CMAT results into the patient chart in IMS
- Communicate CMAT findings to the treating provider in a timely and organized manner
- Generate and maintain CMAT productivity tracking reports using IMS reporting tools
- Monitor and track CMAT supply inventory; notify management when supplies reach reorder threshold
- Keep testing areas well stocked, clean, and properly prepared for each patient encounter
- Display a high level of professionalism in all patient and parent interactions, adhering to HIPAA standards
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with the Department Lead and/or management team regarding clinical, supply, or operational matters
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- This position may be required to travel to other clinics for staffing needs
- Previous experience working with patients in a medical setting required
- No prior CMAT experience required; full training on CMAT procedures will be provided
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program and Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Understanding of basic medical terminology
- Experience with EMR documentation; IMS experience a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to sit for extended periods and communicate effectively, including speaking and hearing
- Regular use of hands and arms to write, type, and operate office equipment
- Occasional physical movement, including reaching, bending, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and sensing odors
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and occasional overhead reaching
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weights (up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly) while maintaining visual focus and awareness
