Are you ready to make a difference? At Freedom (Civil) Design, we’re on the lookout for a passionate Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to join our dynamic team. You’ll be at the forefront of exciting engineering projects that contribute to the UK’s Net Zero targets, working across the entire energy system—from generation to distribution and everything in between!
Your Key Responsibilities:As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will:
- Manage and interpret ground investigation data.
- Produce comprehensive geotechnical interpretative reports, risk assessments, and foundation recommendations.
- Conduct site visits to supervise drilling and testing.
- Collaborate with civil and structural teams to integrate geotechnical insights into designs.
- Lead geotechnical design packages, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Review and approve ground investigation scopes and factual reports.
- Liaise with external consultants and contractors for ground investigations.
- Provide technical input during construction phases, including earthworks and foundation installation.
We seek an experienced Geotechnical Engineer who can lead design packages and deliver strong geotechnical interpretations. You should have:
- A solid background in geotechnical engineering or geology.
- Experience in ground investigation design, specification, and supervision.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio, gINT/OpenGround).
- Familiarity with Eurocode 7 and BS 5930.
- A strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics, slope stability, and foundation design.
