A leading building and civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced and driven Construction Director to oversee residential projects in the Cork region and beyond. As Construction Director, you will be a key member of the senior management team, responsible for managing residential construction projects from early concept through to completion and handover. Initially focused on individual projects, the role offers a clear path to overseeing all residential developments in the region.

• Lead and develop multidisciplinary project teams.
• Recruit, mentor, and support team members to build a high-performing construction division.

• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Act as the primary point of contact for project updates and issue resolution.

• Oversee all phases of construction from concept through to handover.
• Manage project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, safety standards, and environmental goals.
• Develop and manage project budgets, monitor cash flow, and control costs.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring contractual and legal obligations are met.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to manage claims and variations.

• Implement and enforce health & safety protocols.
• Maintain high standards of quality assurance across all projects.
• Ensure adherence to accredited management systems and sustainability targets.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior management role within construction.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
• Proficiency in project management tools and IT systems.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, regulations, and industry best practices.
