Our San Diego, California facility is seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. This position is responsible for accurately preparing and dispatching outgoing shipments, ensuring that all orders are processed correctly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and speed in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company standards and customer requirements.
- Verify order accuracy against shipping documents before dispatch.
- Generate shipping labels and ensure all necessary documentation is included.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Load shipments onto trucks or arrange for loading.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the system accordingly.
- Conduct quality checks on packed items to ensure they are ready for shipment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Assist with inventory management as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and operating office equipment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to perform tasks involving lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Good communication skills.
- Must wear appropriate PPE, such as safety glasses and gloves.
