As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing software for the Leo Customer Terminal embedded systems engineering team. You will be integral to the design, implementation, deployment, and operation of the functions for Leo Customer Terminals. Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Key Responsibilities: Develop and test software using embedded Linux. Create embedded software functions for Customer Terminal devices in the Project Leo system. Utilize programming languages including Rust, C++, and C for embedded software development. Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC): requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support. Develop software within a secure computing environment. Design and analyze state machines. Support Customer Terminal deployment operations and troubleshooting on live systems. Write technical design specifications. A Day in the Life:
As a valued member of our team, you will design, implement, and debug software to test and support embedded systems for Leo Customer Terminal platforms in both research and development and commercial operations. Your flexible and responsive nature will be crucial to adapting to changing priorities while collaborating with hardware development, software development, and operations teams. About the Team:
The Leo Customer Terminal Software Team is dedicated to developing and supporting devices that connect subscribers to the Leo network. We focus on creating robust software for the Leo Customer Terminal platform and its underlying Linux system, collaborating closely with hardware engineering, product teams, and operations to deliver exceptional services for our customers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 7+ years of professional software development experience. 7+ years of experience programming with at least one software language. 7+ years of leading design or architecture for systems, including design patterns and scaling. Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 10+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, and operations. Master's degree in computer science or equivalent. Proficiency in system-level programming languages (C++, Rust, Go). Experience with CI/CD pipeline setup and management.
