We are currently hiring a Highly Skilled 5-Axis CNC Machinist to support continued growth at our Mississauga and Burlington, Ontario facilities.

Position Overview

The 5-Axis CNC Machinist will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating advanced multi-axis CNC machines to produce precision components to exact specifications. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist who enjoys working on large, complex parts , tight tolerances, and technically challenging work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines (Mazak, Haas, DMG Mori, Okuma).
  • Interpret complex blueprints, CAD/CAM files, and engineering drawings .
  • Use CAM software such as Mastercam and Fusion 360 to develop and optimize programs.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, and CMM equipment.
  • Optimize machining processes for cycle time, tool life, and part quality .
  • Set up and operate CNC VTL machines for large-diameter components (30"+).
  • Adjust tooling, offsets, and programs as required.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes for large component handling.
  • Maintain machines, tooling, and fixtures in top working condition.
  • Follow all safety, PPE, and quality standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve machining challenges.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience , including 3+ years of 5-axis machining .
  • Proven experience machining large parts (30"+) .
  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc and Siemens controls .
  • Solid understanding of G-code, feeds & speeds, tooling strategies, and GD&T .
  • Experience machining materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and titanium .
  • Skilled with precision measurement and inspection tools .
  • Experience operating overhead cranes .
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • General Machinist Certification or Technical Diploma
  • CNC programming certification (Mastercam or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 environments
