The primary duty of this position is to enforce federal laws and regulations related to immigration, customs, and border security.

1. Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws;
2. Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations;
3. Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders;
       Maintaining surveillance from covert positions;
       Using infrared scopes during night operations;
