1. Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws or regulations.
   To perform this function effectively, BPAs must possess excellent analytical skills along with exceptional communication abilities.
2. Preventing unauthorized entry into the United States through both land and water checkpoints,
   this entails applying advanced surveillance methods including but not limited to: IR scopes during nighttime operations
   safeguarding national security at all times.
