Position Overview:

As the Business Office Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the business office activities in accordance with federal, state, and local standard guidelines and regulations. You will take charge of coordinating with the Central Billing Office to manage insurance payments, including private, Medicare, Medicaid and other managed care. You will also manage refunds for accounts receivable, and maintain appropriate logs and reports, not limited to, resident refunds, census records, and case accounts.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associate's degree in business or accounting fields; and/or experience in business office operations in long-term care of healthcare related field is preferred.
  • Possess effective communication skills to maintain positive relationship with residents, families, staff, physicians, consultants, providers, and governmental agencies, their representatives and the community.
  • Knowledgeable about local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • High integrity and well-grounded work ethic.
  • Agility and flexibility with changing priorities.
  • Maintain neat, well-groomed and professional appearance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage all business functions, including but not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, resident trust funds, and other assigned duties.
  • Ensure the financial systems are accurate, efficient, and in accordance with professional accounting practices and governmental regulations.
  • Manage insurance payments of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, HMOs and hospice billing, verify payor source; post payments to various systems while ensuring critical deadlines are met.
  • Ensure timely receipt of all payments.
  • Communicate with responsible parties regarding missed payments, submit Medicaid applications and complete timely follow-up on pending cases.
  • Track Census for accuracy and balance statistical reports, Census worksheets, and accounts receivable system reports.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
