Heavy Duty/Auto Mechanic

HOURS OF WORK: 40-hour work week, as per schedule

HOURLY RATE $49.94 per hour, Pay Grade 10 - Schedule "B" Outside Employees
Plus, additional per hour for the following qualifications, LOU #7:
$1.00 per hour for Motor Vehicle Inspection Qualification
$1.50 per hour for Emergency Vehicle Technician Level 1
$3.00 per hour for Emergency Vehicle Technician Level 2

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION 

• Grade 12 Diploma or GED

LICENSES / CERTIFICATES 

• Valid Class three (3) BC Driver's License with Air Endorsement
• Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic
• Red Seal Automotive Mechanic

EXPERIENCE 

• A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a mechanic. 

SPECIFIC SKILLS 

• Knowledge of hydraulic. electric, and brake (air/hydraulic) systems

• Routine maintenance of motor vehicles

• Upkeep of tools and equipment used in carrying out the duties of mechanic

• Experience with computers, including the use of fleet maintenance software

• Diesel Experience

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS 

• A complete set of mechanic hand tools must be supplied by the incumbent

• Ability to attain RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance
