English Tutor

Spark Academy is seeking part-time English Writing Tutors to help elementary and middle school students build strong literacy and writing foundations. This role focuses on reading comprehension, paragraph writing, grammar support, and guiding students through school assignments.

Responsibilities:

• Support students with reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing tasks
• Teach basic writing structure: sentences, paragraphs, transitions, clarity
• Review grammar, punctuation, and organization in student work
• Provide individualized or small-group guidance
• Maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment
• Communicate student progress or concerns to the Program Coordinator

Qualifications:

• Strong writing and communication skills
• Experience working with children preferred (tutoring, classroom support, camp, etc.)
• Comfortable supporting K–8 English Language Arts
• Reliable, patient, and organized
• Available weekday afternoons (approx. 2–6 PM)
• Must pass background check (LiveScan)
