We are looking for a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our Sacramento, California logistics team. This role is vital for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that packages are ready for timely dispatch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify shipping information against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Package and label outgoing shipments according to carrier requirements and company standards.
- Inspect outgoing goods for quality and correct quantities before shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipping status.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations and Safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in logistics or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar shipping/receiving role is required.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and WMS.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with general warehouse Safety procedures.
- Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
