Dental Sterilization Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare, sterilize, and organize dental instruments and equipment using autoclaves and other sterilization devices in accordance with infection control standards.
• Maintain meticulous records of sterilization cycles, instrument inventory, and medical documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Ensure all dental tools meet aseptic techniques and safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on sterilization equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of infection control practices and sterilization procedures.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical documentation standards.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Certification in infection control or sterilization techniques is preferred; ongoing training in dental assisting or related fields is advantageous.
