VB.NET is a programming language specifically designed to be compatible with the new .NET framework. It is optimised for the rapid-application building of graphical user interface applications. Some of its advantages are that it is easy to learn, and features many short-cuts that further facilitate coding in this language.
VB.NET is used to develop desktop applications for the Windows platform, and websites powered by ASP.NET.
