We're opening a brand-new Respite Service in Tipperary Town in Summer 2026, and we're looking for experienced, compassionate Social Care Workers to be part of it from day one.
This is your opportunity to join a close-knit, passionate team dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live fully on their own terms.
About the Role The people who come to our service each bring their own goals, preferences, and potential.
As a Social Care Worker, your role is to know them well and to walk alongside them as they work toward both their short-term enjoyment and their longer-term aspirations.
This is a fast-paced, diverse setting where no two days look the same.
You'll provide hands-on support across daily living, personal care, medication management, and community access all within a warm, homely environment built around dignity, choice, and independence.
You'll take on a Key Worker role for some of the people we support, acting as a consistent, trusted presence in their lives and working closely with families, colleagues, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
The role includes 24-hour shifts with sleepovers, and a sleepover allowance is provided.
What You'll Be Doing Supporting individuals with daily living and personal care, guided by personalised support plans Acting as Key Worker championing each person's short and long-term goals Facilitating social, recreational, and community integration activities Administering and recording prescribed medication in line with policy Fostering a genuine home-from-home atmosphere within the service Maintaining accurate records and reports in line with HIQA standards Driving residents safely in MooreHaven transport as needed Collaborating with families, colleagues, and the multidisciplinary team What We're Looking For Level 5 or higher qualification in Social Care or Healthcare (QQI or equivalent) CORU registration as a Social Care Worker, or nearing completion of the registration process At least 6 months' experience supporting adults with an intellectual disability A full, clean Irish/EU driving licence (learners with a test booked will be considered) Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and genuine commitment to person-centred care xyswxtq Comfortable working 24-hour shifts, including sleepovers, across a TuesdaySaturday roster What You'll Get €18.00 €23.00 per hour (HSE-linked salary scale) Sleepover allowance provided Fortnightly pay 7% employer pension contribution Online GP access and wellbeing support Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family Free on-site parking Ongoing training and professional development The opportunity to help build a new service from day one Ready to Join Us?
