Sr. Data Engineer
The Gemini Data & Analytics team supports DaVita Integrated Kidney Care (DaVita IKC). DaVita IKC is the renal population health management division of DaVita serving approximately 70,000 end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and late-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients across the U.S. A key component of DaVita's integrated care strategy is our healthcare analytics team, responsible for developing and communicating advanced data analytics to inform program performance and model of care design. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for monitoring and communicating the performance of our value-based care programs. This includes developing reports and performing analysis to measure the model of care execution and understand the impact on program outcomes. This role will work with teammates across various teams, ranging from analysts to clinicians and operators to executive leaders. The environment is highly collaborative and team-oriented with a focus on both professional and personal growth. In addition to this, you will play a key role in supporting and informing the team's approach to Tableau development through creating and publishing data sources, performing Tableau site administrator duties, and communicating with stakeholders. The Sr. Data Engineer will work with teammates across various teams, ranging from peers to clinicians and operators to executive leaders. The environment is highly collaborative and team-oriented, with a differential focus on both professional and personal growth. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Sr. Data Engineer must be able to work successfully with cross-functional teams and have the maturity to interact directly with both peers and executives across departments. The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position, but are not intended to be all-inclusive. SQL Development Write SQL queries against data warehouses containing clinical operations and medical claims data to support analytic requests and delivery of summarized outcomes and insights Develop summary level reporting to assist operations leaders in monitoring care team performance and understanding areas of success or opportunity Leverage reporting and supporting data to troubleshoot operations performance and identifying insights around clinical, demographic and medical cost trends and contribution to outcomes Partner with stakeholders to define technical and business requirements for reporting and analytic requests Support and troubleshoot reporting and datasets to facilitate consistent interpretation of program performance to DaVita IKC leadership Create and maintain technical documentation to support work processes Data Engineering Data pipeline development & ETL/ELT Data modeling & architecture Data quality & governance Tableau Development Understand business needs/challenges and translate them to assist developers in creating scalable solutions to requests Perform thorough quality assurance assessments of in progress and completed projects Create, maintain, and distribute reports that play a key role in evaluating performance and informing care model decisions Utilize SQL and relational database experience to develop and publish Tableau data sources used across multiple reports Develop and maintain procedures that support the team's reporting capabilities, including coaching developers on accepted best practices Communication Create and maintain report documentation Present and communicate reports to various stakeholders including executive leadership and clinical teammates Succinctly and clearly convey findings from reports and analyses Provide Analytical Support Use Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, and SQL to perform ad-hoc analyses on a variety of data sources Summarize and deliver unique insights on claims data received from payor and provider partners and operations/clinical data collected through EMRs Just as important as your experience and skills will be the following characteristics and competencies: Interest and strengths in data analysis and innovation Desire and willingness to learn and develop new technical skills Build relationships with internal and external partners and clients Interest in coaching, and finding consensus Embrace working in a fast-paced environment Focus on analytical process improvement A self-starter mentality and thoughtful execution abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills An upbeat, team-oriented attitude Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred Very strong experience with Snowflake and writing SQL and relational databases 4 years of experience with EPIC clarity or Caboodle certification required OR GCP data engineering certification required Strong experience with project management Experience in all Microsoft applications Experience working within SDLC framework Experience in healthcare analytics preferred What You Can Expect When You Join Our Village

This position will be open for a minimum of three days. The Salary Range for the role is $76,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year. If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position. New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hour Washington Exempt: $80,168.40/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.63/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour For location-
