Position: QA Inspector Location: Madison, AL Job Id: 50-2026-01 # of Openings: 1 Nextek, A Company of Kontron, is a niche market, technology-driven Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company, founded in 1995. We offer precision electronic assembly and engineering services to customers with needs-driven, non-commodity products. We partner with companies who have unique product needs and who seek a high level of reliability, commitment and professional service from their manufacturing partners. Responsibilities Perform visual and mechanical inspection of printed circuit assemblies (PCAs) and electronic components. Verify workmanship to IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards. Inspect conformal coating applications for coverage, thickness, and defects. Identify and document defects, non-conformances, and quality issues. Utilize inspection tools including calipers, gauges, and optical inspection equipment (microscopes, magnifiers, etc.). Interpret drawings, schematics, work instructions, and acceptance criteria. Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities. Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation. Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure quality standards are met. Perform process quality audits. Skills/Experience/Training Requirements Current IPC-A-610 Certification (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) Current J-STD-001 Certification (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronics Assemblies) If not currently certified, will be responsible for completing training to become certified.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications. Proficiency in using inspection tools (calipers, gauges, microscopes, optical scopes, etc.) for extended periods of time. Must be a U.S. citizen.
