Solutions Engineer. London area (hybrid). Circa £65,000 (OTE up to £150,000) + benefits. Founded in 2016 by Engineers from Stanford and MIT, and having received £27million in funding, my client is a truly impressive organisation who are breaking boundaries in the scientific world and are on a mission to accelerate industrial R&D. As a high-growth startup now employing 130 talented professionals, they have developed an AI driven R&D platform, used by the worlds leading Chemists, Material Scientists and Biologists, to dramatically accelerate how new products are discovered, developed and brought to market. My client works with an enviable selection of R&D clients across chemicals, pharmaceuticals, advanced materials and food and beverages. Their pre-sales team was formally established two years ago, so youre getting in early to shape how this function operations, as the company scales. Due to continued, fast and strategic expansion, an opportunity has now arisen for a Solutions Engineer to join their fast-paced pre-sales team in London.
Does this sound like the engaging and exciting next step of your career? The key responsibilities for your new role as Solutions Engineer are as follows: Owning the full technical pre-sales process
from first demo through business value case development, technical evaluation positioning and pilot execution. Architect and build custom demonstrations, workshops and pilots on this cutting-edge platform, tailored to each prospects R&D workflows. Partner closely with Account Executives and champion Stakeholders to drive value-based selling and close net new revenue. Lead technical evaluations and demo sessions, telling compelling stories about how the platform transforms R&D data management and innovation. Mentor and manage new grad team members who support you during technical evaluations. Write scripts and configure integrations on the platforms integration server as needed to support custom prospect engagements. Spend 20-25% of your time travelling to meet with prospects and deliver on-site presentations and workshops. My client is keen to speak to people with strong scientific backgrounds (chemistry, material science or chemical engineering) and the soft skills to be the technical face of their face team. You will be gritty, curious and a confident communicator, by nature, who thrives in a fast-paced sales environment. An advanced degree (MSc/PhD) is strongly preferred. In return, my client is offering an excellent salary circa £65,000 with extremely high on-target earnings of up to £150,000. You will also benefit from hybrid working and an excellent benefits package including equity shares.
