SE Engineering, PC is a specialized power systems engineering firm trusted by industrial, healthcare, data center, and mission‐critical facilities. We're growing and looking for a Power Systems Engineer who wants hands‐on technical work, real client impact, and a clear path for professional growth. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a mix of analysis and field work—and who wants their engineering decisions to matter.
What You'll Do As a Power Systems Engineer, you'll serve as a primary technical resource within your assigned region, supporting projects from initial analysis through implementation:
* Perform power system studies including short circuit, protective coordination, load flow, motor starting, and arc flash hazard analysis * Conduct power quality testing, troubleshooting, and field investigations * Design and improve low‐ and medium‐voltage electrical distribution systems * Work with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, protective devices, and grounding systems * Apply and interpret IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NFPA 70E, and other applicable standards * Collect data from portable and installed power monitoring equipment * Collaborate with clients to develop practical, safe, and code‐compliant solutions * Participate in project development, technical proposals, and client presentations * Lead or support on‐site activities with a strong emphasis on safety * Grow toward project leadership and Engineer‐in‐Responsible‐Charge roles as experience increases
What We're Looking For Required:
* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university * 3-7 years of experience in power system studies * Solid understanding of electrical distribution systems across multiple facility types * Strong communication skills—able to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and teammates * Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a small, technically focused team * Willingness to travel within an assigned state (GA, NC, SC, or NY)
Preferred (but not required):
* EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure * Experience in a consulting engineering environment * Hands‐on experience with SKM, EasyPower, ETAP - EDSA experience a plus * AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency * Experience supporting industrial, healthcare, data center, or institutional facilities
