SE Engineering, PC is a specialized power systems engineering firm trusted by industrial, healthcare, data center, and mission‐critical facilities. We’re growing and looking for a Power Systems Engineer who wants hands‐on technical work, real client impact, and a clear path for professional growth.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a mix of analysis and field work—and who wants their engineering decisions to matter. What You’ll Do
As a Power Systems Engineer, you’ll serve as a primary technical resource within your assigned region, supporting projects from initial analysis through implementation:
Perform power system studies including short circuit, protective coordination, load flow, motor starting, and arc flash hazard analysis
Conduct power quality testing, troubleshooting, and field investigations
Design and improve low‐ and medium‐voltage electrical distribution systems
Work with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, protective devices, and grounding systems
Apply and interpret IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NFPA 70E, and other applicable standards
Collect data from portable and installed power monitoring equipment
Collaborate with clients to develop practical, safe, and code‐compliant solutions
Participate in project development, technical proposals, and client presentations
Lead or support on‐site activities with a strong emphasis on safety
Grow toward project leadership and Engineer‐in‐Responsible‐Charge roles as experience increases What We’re Looking For
Required:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university
3–7 years of experience in power system studies
Solid understanding of electrical distribution systems across multiple facility types
Strong communication skills—able to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and teammates
Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a small, technically focused team
Willingness to travel within an assigned state (GA, NC, SC, or NY) Preferred (but not required):
EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
Experience in a consulting engineering environment
Hands‐on experience with SKM, EasyPower, ETAP - EDSA experience a plus
AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency
Experience supporting industrial, healthcare, data center, or institutional facilities Why SE Engineering?
