Overview
Auburn Advancement is excited to begin the search for aSalesforce Business Data Analyst to join our Operations andStrategy Team!
In this role, you’ll help manage and optimizeAuburn Advancement’s Salesforce CRM platform, ensuring dataintegrity, streamlining processes, and empowering Advancement staffwith actionable insights that drive engagement, stewardship, andfundraising success.
What You’ll Do:
Empower Data-Driven Decisions:
Support Advancement’smission by maintaining accurate constituent and giving data,ensuring systems are optimized for performance and reliability.Develop reports and dashboards that provide meaningful insightsinto donor engagement, campaigns, and fundraising trends. Partnerwith teams to interpret data, identify opportunities, and informstrategy with clear, evidence-based analysis. Optimize Systems and Processes:
Assist in the day-to-daymanagement of Salesforce, including user access, troubleshooting,enhancements, and data maintenance. Execute imports and updates forconstituent information, giving, and campaign activity whilemaintaining rigorous data integrity and compliance with universitystandards. Document and refine workflows to streamline operationsand improve efficiency across Advancement teams. Advance Fundraising and Engagement Efforts:
Collaboratewith Advancement staff to design and maintain tools that powerdonor engagement, campaigns, and events. Support staff in buildingand refining reports and dashboards that track progress towardphilanthropic goals. Partner with the Application Support andSalesforce teams to develop automation (Flows, Validation Rules)and ensure systems support fundraising success. Champion Data Excellence and Collaboration:
Serve as atrusted resource for Advancement teams by documenting datadefinitions, maintaining the data dictionary, and ensuringconsistent reporting logic across the organization. Createtutorials, guides, and training materials that enable users to workconfidently within Salesforce. Work collaboratively with IT, campuspartners, and third-party vendors to evaluate integrations andimplement system improvements that align with institutionalobjectives. Why You’ll Love It Here:

Responsibilities
Your Responsibilities as a Salesforce Business DataAnalyst:
Purpose:
Support fundraising and engagement efforts by ensuringaccurate, consistent, and accessible Salesforce data. Empower Advancement teams with reliable reporting, intuitivedashboards, and meaningful data insights that drivedecision-making. Collaboration:
Partner with Advancement and IT teams to align CRMfunctionality with organizational goals and fundraisingstrategies. Work closely with users to understand reporting needs, resolvedata issues, and recommend process improvements that enhanceefficiency and effectiveness.
Innovation:
Evaluate opportunities to automate workflows, improve dataquality, and enhance user experience within Salesforce. Test and implement new features, integrations, and enhancementsin collaboration with the Salesforce and Application Supportteams. Continuously refine documentation, data definitions, andtraining materials to ensure clarity and consistency.
Production:
Maintain and monitor Salesforce data to ensure accuracy,completeness, and compliance with standards. Execute updates, imports, and audits related to constituent,giving, and engagement data. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards for fundraising,events, and donor engagement metrics. Provide responsive user support and assist with onboarding,training, and troubleshooting as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience in design, analysis,and reporting of data analysis
OR
Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience in design, analysis, andreporting of data analysis.
