Performing thorough patient assessments, ordering necessary diagnostics, and creating personalized care plans Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions, in collaboration with physicians or independently, depending on your credentials Providing education to patients and their families about prevention, wellness, and chronic disease management Prescribing medications and treatments in accordance with your professional scope Engaging in patient follow-ups and chronic care management Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide seamless, holistic care Maintaining meticulous and accurate documentation within electronic medical records (EMR) Education Criteria
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Essential Certifications
Active Nurse Practitioner license in Alabama National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or a similar specialty equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to acquire within 90 days) Attributes That Distinguish You
