About The Role

dYdX Foundation is seeking a dynamic Institutional Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of DeFi. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our institutional BD strategy and manage all market maker and institutional relationships. You will work closely with our solutions, marketing, and trading teams in this role to identify and pursue new partnerships and business development opportunities. As the primary institutional BD contact, you will build and maintain relationships with key financial partners, institutional investors, and other partners interested in onboarding to the dYdX Chain. Your expertise will be critical in identifying and driving institutional sales opportunities and building a healthy pipeline through sourcing and converting prospective clientele. Building and nurturing meaningful relationships with key stakeholders is a crucial aspect of this role.

What You’ll be Doing

• Identify and onboard new market makers, institutional clients, and high-net-worth individuals to enhance liquidity on the dYdX Chain.
• Identify and drive institutional sales opportunities. Build a healthy pipeline through sourcing and converting prospective opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing market makers and institutional partners.
• Define and evaluate new market makers and institutional streams and opportunities with existing or new clients, i.e., Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Venture Capital Firms, Endowments, Private Equity Firms, Private Wealth Managers, and Sovereign Wealth Funds.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to create and provide comprehensive onboarding documentation and support materials for market makers and other institutional clients.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for market maker inquiries, providing timely and effective support and guidance on seamlessly integrating with the dYdX Chain.
• Own the aggregation of market maker feedback and align with product/engineering to improve the product roadmap.
• Monitor market maker performance and engagement, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices, incorporating insights into our market maker strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and marketing, to align the ‘voice of the market maker user’ with company goals.
• Regularly report on market maker performance, liquidity metrics, and key business development insights to senior management.

What We’re Looking for

Must-have

• Located in EU or UAE only.
• 5+ years of BD/Finance experience, varied between crypto, and traditional finance, focusing on institutional clients.
• Deep knowledge of crypto assets, crypto derivatives, DeFi, and the value proposition for key institutional clients.
• Understanding how cryptocurrency markets operate, including trading mechanisms, liquidity, and market dynamics.
• Proficiency in understanding and working with APIs to facilitate smooth integration for market makers and high-frequency traders.
• Experience with popular trading platforms and tools, such as CLOB exchanges, trading bots, and algorithmic trading software.
• Experienced sales professional with a proven track record of building prospect pipelines, developing opportunities, and closing deals.
• Well-connected in the local institutional crypto community.
• Proven ability to build relationships with institutional partners.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• Excellent communicator, able to explain complex DeFi topics and the value proposition behind the dYdX Chain.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Experience working remotely and independently with a global team.
• Excellent planning skills to prioritize and manage sales in an organized, structured manner.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive with a drive to work through hard problems and set priorities.
• Passionate about dYdX's mission and the potential of decentralized finance.
