We are seeking candidates with at least two years of experience, and have the physical ability to handle patient positioning. This is a great opportunity to work with patient-focused professionals in a cooperative work environment. Must be certified and have BLS.
*ROLE OVERVIEW*:
Responsible for taking fluoroscopy exams, other radiology exams and other related duties.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
Graduate of accredited x-ray technician program. Current CPR certification. American Registry of Radiological Technologist registration preferred. Minimum of one year customer service experience, preferably in health care setting.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES:*
The following list describes the essential duties of this role. Individuals in this role may not perform all these duties, or may perform additional or unrelated duties:
* Prepares room for patient use by cleaning between patients and ensuring that x-ray room is stocked with appropriate supplies.
* Escorts patients to room and prepare patient for radiological exam by explaining the procedure, removing articles such as jewelry, and positioning patients so that the appropriate body parts can be radiographed.
* Conducts routine fluoroscopy examinations on patients as ordered by physicians. Follows established techniques and methods in operating equipment to expose and develop film. Ensures technical quality of films and exercising judgment in processing assigned.
* Conform to all safety standards and regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect you, patients, and co-workers from unnecessary exposure.
* Performs related clerical duties such as completing necessary forms, labeling films and film envelopes, etc.
* Maintains an adequate level of supplies in the examination room and reorders as necessary. Ensure the equipment operates properly. Reports on equipment malfunctions to the Manager to ensure the safety of patients
* Cross trains in other clinical areas as needed by Clinical Nurse Pain Manager. (i.e. writing orders, preparing charts and assisting with pre-certifications)
* Perform all duties respectful of confidentiality and safety of all patients, employees and physicians.
*SKILLS / PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIRMENTS*:
* Skills necessary to effectively interact with physicians, other clinical staff, patients and families providing instructions or responding to questions or exchanging patient-related information.
* Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
* Skill in positioning patients properly.
* Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
* Ability to communicate clearly with physicians, patients and families.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients and families.
* Demonstrated ability in handling patient confidentiality
* Written communication skills necessary for charting and documentation
* Must be able to bend, lift, and reach.
* Ability to work standing all day.
* Ability to work under stress, with interruptions and deadlines.
