This role sits within design management on complex development projects, ensuring external consultants and vendors deliver consistent, high-quality outputs aligned with established standards, governance, and project requirements.
You will be involved from early site due diligence and master planning through to construction support, helping identify and manage technical risks, assess buildability, and ensure design completeness against cost, schedule, and health & safety requirements.
The position also plays a key role in applying standardized design principles, supporting site selection and development activities alongside the development team, and maintaining continuity of technical input across the project lifecycle.
In addition, you will contribute to procurement activities including pre-qualification, bids, and tenders, participate in project governance forums, and provide structured feedback to improve delivery performance and ensure alignment with internal systems and procedures.
Responsibilities
Direct the coordination and governance of design review activities across multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring alignment between internal stakeholders and external consultants.
Assess performance of design consultants, contractors, and suppliers, providing structured feedback and tracking delivery quality across individual work packages and overall project execution.
Oversee design coordination workflows including submission tracking, approval sequencing, model coordination, and clash resolution, ensuring design changes are clearly communicated and integrated into project controls.
Monitor permitting and regulatory approval progress to ensure alignment with project schedules and escalation of potential delays or risks.
Support commercial awareness within design development, including exposure to cost planning, variation assessment, and change control processes.
Drive integration of environmental and sustainability objectives across design outputs, ensuring compliance with defined project sustainability targets.
Ensure safety, compliance, and quality requirements are embedded within all design deliverables and maintained across all project phases.
Review design documentation to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or missing information, and manage resolution tracking through structured issue logs and reporting tools.
Provide technical support to construction and delivery teams to resolve design-related issues efficiently and minimize impact to program timelines.
Contribute to technical due diligence activities related to potential acquisitions and expansion opportunities within assigned regions.
Collaborate with internal technical and discipline leads to maintain and evolve standardized design frameworks and project baseline requirements.
Translate external client or stakeholder requirements into structured design inputs aligned with internal standards and project execution strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience within data centers or mission-critical environments.
8+ years’ of experience working on highly serviced building environments.
Strong working understanding of how mechanical, electrical, and ICT systems integrate and interact within complex facilities.
Background in design delivery, design coordination, or design management within construction or engineering environments.
Strong understanding of end-to-end design and construction workflows, including refurbishment, fit-out, and large-scale capital project delivery.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand the financial implications of design decisions, cost movements, and scope changes.
Highly organized with experience implementing structured processes, governance frameworks, or delivery systems within project environments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across internal teams, external consultants, and international stakeholders.
Experience working in cross-cultural, multi-stakeholder project environments with distributed delivery teams.
Ability to engage with digital/technology workstreams and support integration of tools and systems that improve project delivery and coordination.
Comfortable leading technical discussions, workshops, and coordination meetings with consultants, vendors, and delivery partners.
Preferences
Architectural, structural, or building services engineering qualifications.
Familiarity with digital design coordination tools.
Compensation will be comprised of a competitive base salary + bonus + comprehensive benefits.
The position will be remote with minimal travel.
