Position Summary Harness
Software Engineering Insights (SEI)
is where engineering meets engineering intelligence. In this role you’ll build a product that connects to 40+ developer tools, processes millions of events, and turns raw SDLC data into actionable metrics. Your work will directly impact thousands of developers building software.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain critical Java software in a fast‑paced, quality‑conscious environment.
Author functional specifications and design documents for new features.
Own key components of the system, ensuring high quality and performance.
Use iterative development cycles and frequent customer feedback.
Design and implement scalable backend solutions, diagnosing and troubleshooting distributed computing problems.
Perform peer reviews of specifications, designs, and code.
Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers/DevOps and cross‑functional teams to deploy software and resolve production issues.
Qualifications
8–10+ years of experience building highly scalable, distributed Java applications.
Strong background with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL tuning.
Experience with search frameworks such as Elasticsearch or Solr.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Docker.
Experience in CI/CD processes and short release cycles.
Deep understanding of resilient distributed software architecture.
Excellent problem‑solving and debugging skills.
Desire to build products solving complex technical problems for end users.
Location: Bay Area or Remote (U.S.) with periodic travel.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $150,000–$226,000
