Summary The Sales Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the sales operations processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness within the sales and marketing teams. This role involves managing the new business pipeline, administering CRM systems, generating sales and marketing performance reports, administering variable compensation plans, conducting pricing analysis, providing sales and marketing support, monitoring competitors, and maintaining SWOT assessments.

1) New Business Pipeline Management
Develop and implement strategies to manage and optimize the new business pipeline.
Monitor and analyze pipeline metrics to ensure accurate forecasting and timely progression of opportunities.
Collaborate with sales teams to identify and address bottlenecks in the pipeline.
2) CRM Administration
Oversee the administration and maintenance of the CRM system.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the CRM.
Train and support sales team members in CRM usage and best practices.
Generate and analyze reports on sales and marketing performance metrics.
Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve sales strategies and marketing campaigns.
Monitor Quote Win Rate, Loss Reason Codes and disseminate to key stakeholders for corrective action planning and strategy adjustments.
Present performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Administer Sales recognition plan, reporting and recognition milestones, communication and events.
4) Variable Compensation Administration
Administer and manage variable compensation plans for the sales team.
Ensure accurate calculation and timely distribution of commissions and bonuses.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to align compensation plans with company goals.
Conduct pricing analysis to support sales strategies and competitive positioning.
Monitor market trends and competitor pricing to inform pricing decisions.
Provide recommendations for pricing adjustments based on analysis.
Provide operational support to the sales team to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Assist in the development and implementation of sales processes and tools.
Develop and manage templates for Account Plans and Growth Roadmaps.
Organize and maintain global and controlled access to all sales collateral including Account Plans, Customer Specific presentations, Customer research/intel, Proposals/Quotes, etc.
Address and resolve sales-related issues and challenges.
7) Marketing Support
Collaborate with the marketing team and external agencies and contractors to align sales and marketing strategies.
Support marketing campaigns and initiatives to drive lead generation and brand awareness.
Maintain and organize all marketing collateral including standard presentations and templates, etc.
Monitor, maintain and organize all Market Reports, Customer Intelligence, Customer Profiles and Engagement Summaries, etc.
Support preparation for and administration of Trade Shows and Customer events.
Provide feedback and insights to improve marketing efforts.
8) Competitor Monitoring
Monitor competitor activities, strategies, and market positioning.
Identify emerging technologies that may impact the industry or Vantedge.
Analyze competitor performance and identify potential threats and opportunities.
Maintain up-to-date competitor profiles and reports.
9) Competitor SWOT Assessments
Conduct and maintain SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) assessments for key competitors.
Use SWOT analysis to inform strategic decisions and identify areas for improvement.
Regularly update SWOT assessments to reflect changes in the competitive landscape.
Administration and deployment of Sales Training as dictated by business needs and in alignment with budget and sales development objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven experience in sales operations, CRM administration, and performance reporting.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Hubspot or Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
Experience in pricing analysis and variable compensation administration.
