Business Overview: We are a healthcare organization. We handle sensitive patient data, but we lack a formal data governance framework. Our data is inconsistent, and we are not fully compliant with regulations like HIPAA. The Challenge: We do not have a clear data governance framework. Data is collected and stored inconsistently, which leads to data quality issues and a high risk of regulatory non-compliance. We need to ensure our data is accurate, secure, and used responsibly. The lack of data governance puts us at high risk of a data breach and regulatory non-compliance. This could lead to massive fines, legal action, and a loss of public trust. It also makes it difficult to use our data for business intelligence and analytics. Proposed Method: We need a senior data professional to design and implement a comprehensive data governance framework. The project will involve: Policy Definition:
Creating clear policies for data quality, security, and access control. Data Catalog:
Implementing a data catalog to document our data assets. Roles & Responsibilities:
Defining clear roles for data ownership and stewardship. Compliance:
Ensuring our data practices are compliant with regulations like HIPAA or GDPR. Required Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related field. The freelancer must have a proven track record of designing and implementing data governance frameworks. Required Expertise: Deep expertise in
data governance principles and frameworks. Strong knowledge of
data quality and security standards. Experience with
regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR). Excellent
technical documentation and communication skills.
