We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Contractor Sales Associate to support both in-store lumber yard operations and field sales to contractors and construction professionals. This role requires a blend of product knowledge, relationship-building, and hands-on support to ensure exceptional service to our contractor customer basewhether in the yard, in the field, or at store. Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and construction professionals to drive sales and loyalty. Assist contractors in selecting lumber and building materials to meet project specifications. Conduct job site visits, product presentations, and offer customized solutions to contractor needs. Prepare accurate quotes, read blueprints, and provide estimates for residential and commercial jobs. Process transactions efficiently, including handling cash, checks, and credit card payments. Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions using company CRM or inventory systems. Coordinate and occasionally deliver materials to job sites using company vehicles (Class A CDL Preferred). Operate yard equipment such as forklifts and loaders to load/unload materials and support yard operations. Manage inventory accuracy and product pricing using company software; ensure timely restocking. Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking functions to promote our services. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and lumberyard. Follow all safety guidelines and comply with US DOT regulations for deliveries. Fill in as needed across other sales and yard responsibilities. High School diploma or GED required. Two years of production operations, facilities, or quality control experience desired. OSHA 10 Certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification. Proven sales experience, preferably in the construction, building materials, or contracting industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service orientation. Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. Class A CDL preferred. Forklift and loader experience preferred. Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory/POS systems (BisTrack experience preferred).
