Senior Recruitment Consultant at Intelletec Energy | Hiring Renewable Energy Executives Stealth Grid Company
Location:
Remote (U.S. only) | $165K–$190K + 0.5%–1.5% Equity
About Us
Our client is building solutions to one of the most urgent challenges in the energy transition: grid interconnection delays. Backed by Montauk Capital, we are developing a proprietary platform and turnkey solution that enables faster, lower-cost interconnection for large dynamic loads — including data centers, hyperscalers, renewable generation, storage, and industrial facilities.
The Role
We are seeking a
Senior Power Systems Engineer
to architect, own, and validate the core power systems modeling and analysis engine at the heart of our platform.
You will serve as the technical authority on power systems math, modeling rigor, and system behavior — building new modeling approaches, not just applying existing tools. This is a ground-up creation role, not maintenance work.
You’ll work directly with the CEO and CTO as one of the first three full‑time employees, and play a fundamental role in defining how large loads and inverter‑based resources integrate into modern, low‑inertia, renewable‑heavy grids.
What You’ll Do
Own, define, and validate core power systems models and mathematical frameworks, including:
AC power flow
Transient & dynamic analysis
Jacobians, eigenvectors, and differential equation systems
Design and implement a custom power flow engine optimized for speed and nuanced accuracy.
Evaluate and guide modeling approaches in real time — catching errors and defining implementation details.
Analyze stability, protection behavior, control dynamics, and voltage/frequency response in low‑inertia grid environments.
Model the dynamic behavior of large loads and inverter‑based resources (IBRs).
Bridge foundational physics‑based modeling with modern, scalable implementation methods.
Work closely with the engineering team to embed your models into the product and drive the roadmap from MVP to production.
Collaborate with external advisors and partners while providing full‑time technical leadership within the core team.
Must‑Have Experience:
Deep expertise in power systems modeling and mathematical formulation
Strong background in renewable integration and low‑inertia power systems
Fluency with:
Differential equations and dynamic system modeling
Stability, controls, harmonics, and protection considerations
Tools / Domain Background (Nice to Have):
Experience with PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSLF, or similar
Publications in grid integration, control, or dynamic modeling research fields
Exposure to interconnection studies, standards, and utility grid code environments
Soft Skills:
Able to work independently and build from first principles.
Comfortable operating in a fast‑moving early‑stage environment.
Excited to contribute to core technical direction, not just execution.
Why Join Us
Massive real‑world impact: Interconnection delays are one of the biggest bottlenecks in energy and AI today.
Founding‑level role: Join as the third full‑time employee alongside the CEO and CTO.
Build the core engine: You will own the power systems modeling stack from the ground up.
Strong backing: Montauk Capital has deep expertise building category‑defining Electron Economy companies.
Remote‑first with quarterly offsites.
Meaningful equity: 0.5%–1.5% ownership in a company positioned for rapid scale.
Seniority level Mid‑Senior level
