At CGI, we design, engineer, install, and maintain large-scale Audio/Video systems. We put our customer first, and demand only the best. We are looking for those that share our passion. We currently have an immediate opening for an A/V Design Engineer. Accountabilities:
Design, engineer, and manage the production of project documents for a variety of projects that include audio, video, VTC conferencing, broadcast cable, video production, networking, lighting, and control systems for small to medium sized projects Prepare A/V system drawings to include floor plans, RCP's, room details, construction details, riser diagrams, functional diagrams, and others as needed Provide structural, BIM, MEP, and Life Safety coordination Continue to maintain technical capabilities and certifications in the following technical areas: networks, audio/video, and broadcast industries and technologies that support these diverse systems Project Responsibilities:
Follow and manage project scope of work documents as part of a project contract Create equipment specifications and bill of materials budgets for cost estimating and purchasing Write testing, verification, and commissioning plans and other documents per contract requirements Perform site visits to review installation standards, assist in system testing, verification, commissioning, system programming, system turn on and client training Education And Experience:
BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or another related field - preferred 3-8 years' experience in AV Design or Integration AVIXA CTS or CTS-D certification preferred Knowledge of AutoCAD required, and REVIT preferred OSHA 10 or 30 hour preferred Competencies:
Understanding in design, principle, and operation of Audio and Video systems Ability to create system drawings, material lists, and documents that support the proposal, design, integration, and commissioning phases of a project Understanding of basic network topology and protocols, including V-LAN's, QOS, Multicast, Unicast, and network terminology Experience in Microsoft Office programs Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone internally and externally Ability to work on and navigate a construction site Ability to apply critical thinking and have a flexible schedule as needed to serve the client's needs Other Requirements:
May require 20-30% travel.
