Enterprise Solutions Engineer We are looking for an
Enterprise Solutions Engineer
to join our team at Submittable. In this dynamic, customer‑facing role, you'll bring technical expertise, strategic vision, and a collaborative approach to help our
Government/Public Sector
customers achieve their goals. You will partner closely with our Government Sales Team to drive opportunities forward, lead complex enterprise engagements, and shape large‑scale deployments of our Grants Management solution. We’re looking for candidates who combine technical expertise, business acumen, and a passion for creating meaningful change.
This is a full‑time position that reports to the Director of Solutions Engineering.
How You'll Make an Impact
Be a Trusted Advisor: Partner with prospects, customers, and stakeholders to ensure our solutions align with their technical and strategic goals, providing insights and recommendations that enhance both implementation and long‑term outcomes.
Own the Technical Sales Process: Lead technical discovery, deliver compelling demos, build proofs of concept, and drive technical evaluations – ensuring seamless handoffs to Implementation and Customer Success teams.
Create Strategic Solutions: Design tailored solutions that demonstrate the transformative potential of Submittable's Grants Management products for government and public sector customers.
Foster Collaboration: Work cross‑functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver holistic, scalable solutions.
Support RFP/RFI/RFQ Responses: In coordination with the Alliances and RFP Manager, assess solution fit, respond to functional and technical elements, coordinate security questionnaires, and provide demonstrations and follow‑up documentation.
Own Pre‑Sales Documentation & SOWs: Lead the creation of high‑quality pre‑sales documentation and Statements of Work that accurately scope projects and set customers up for success.
Elevate the Practice: Develop and refine tools, processes, and collateral to advance our Solutions Engineering capabilities and improve scalability.
Inspire Action: Represent Submittable at conferences, webinars, and external engagements to highlight our mission and showcase the impact of our solutions.
Maintain Expert‑Level Platform Knowledge: Become a true product expert – understanding how Submittable's solutions solve customer problems and deliver value, with a commitment to continuous self‑learning.
Travel: Be available to travel up to 25% of the time for on‑site prospect and customer engagements.
What We're Looking For
5+ years in a solutions engineering or consulting role in SaaS environments (enterprise business software, grants management, government enterprise software, or similar), with a focus on customer impact.
Proficiency in web technologies and familiarity with APIs, integrations, and cloud platforms.
Proven ability to build technical champions and influence complex buying committees across business, technical, and executive levels.
Experience in competitive sales motions; familiarity with MEDDPICC or equivalent value‑selling frameworks is a strong plus.
Creativity and persistence in developing scalable, innovative solutions.
Strong interpersonal abilities, fostering trust and partnership with customers and internal teams.
A track record of thriving in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
A self‑starter ready to dive in on day one.
Location:
This is a remote, U.S.-based role and you must live and reside in the U.S. full‑time.
Compensation:
The annual On‑Target Earnings (OTE) for this position is $140,000 – $170,000 with a pay mix of approximately 80/20 (base/commission). Base salary range is $115,000 – $135,000, with a variable commission target of $25,000 – $35,000. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
